Classic Home with a Twist

Located in the prestigious Ponce/Davis area of Miami, this project aimed to update a 1990s home for a couple seeking a modern, functional living space. The goal was to create a design that catered to their current lifestyle while also maintaining the potential to appeal to future buyers as a family home. This dual purpose guided the entire renovation process.

The design concept centered on paring back and simplifying decorative elements while reimagining the functionality of key spaces. Bedrooms were transformed into home offices, and libraries became dining areas, offering flexibility for the owners without compromising the home’s resale value. By abstracting existing architectural details and reconfiguring the layout, the renovation achieved a refined, spacious feel. Small, choppy rooms were opened up to create larger, more comfortable areas, enhancing the flow and functionality of the home.

Key features included the addition of a pool, which transformed the backyard into an urban oasis perfect for relaxing and entertaining. The interior design was kept light and bright, amplifying the sense of space and natural light throughout the home.

The final result is a home that not only meets the current needs of its owners but also retains the versatility required for future buyers. This tailored approach ensures that the property remains adaptable and appealing, blending personal touches with broad market appeal—a critical consideration for the owners, who are serial renovators.
