Tribeca Loft
A refined New York loft with artistic flair, balancing bold design with classic downtown character
Project Description
Located in a newly converted building in TriBeCa, this loft became the perfect canvas for a blue-chip lawyer and his wife, a celebrated author. The apartment, bathed in natural light from two sides and offering iconic views of cityscapes and water towers, was a stunning find. The goal was to complement the owners’ extensive art collection while creating a sophisticated, urban retreat that reflected their unique tastes.
The design approach embraced classic New York loft style, punctuated by witty touches like a Murano chandelier featuring dolphins—a nod to the couple’s Miami roots where they first met. Large, distinctive furniture pieces were carefully selected to stand up to the scale of the art, creating a balanced backdrop that showcases the collection without overwhelming the space.
With a palette of lighter tones reminiscent of their Florida days, the loft captures a sense of brightness and warmth, softening the typical gray hues of the northeastern light. The result is a harmonious blend of artistic sensibility and downtown edge, offering a serene, sophisticated escape that reflects the couple’s creative spirit and love of urban living.
